Japan's ANA Hopes to Become India's Gateway Carrier

Japan's All Nippon Airways is seeking to become the next gateway carrier for India, following the model set by different Middle East and South East Asian airlines. The Japanese carrier is aiming to offer viable alternatives for those seeking flights tickets deals on US-bound flights from India. The operator plans to use its transit hub in Tokyo for the service. To attract fliers, ANA is advertising the proximity of Narita airport in Tokyo with the US west coast.

India features prominently in ANA’s scheme of things. The airline is looking to add more flights on its network to India. There are plans to incorporate new Indian cities in the carrier’s network. Moreover, the airline would be increasing its flights services to Mumbai, offering more tickets options to tickets seekers.

All Nippon Airways’ move is likely to increase the competition to capture the demand of flights tickets from the rising number of transit passengers in India. Emirates, Etihad and Cathay Pacific are some other carriers that has been acting as India’s gateway carriers and offering flights tickets deals via their respective hubs.

Currently, ANA provides tickets alternatives on daily flights between Tokyo and Delhi and Mumbai in India. In future, the carrier has plans to offer flights tickets options for Chennai and Bangalore as well.
