Goa Tourism Lands PATWA award at ITB Berlin

Finally, there is a validation for what many already knew! Millions of tourists who grab hold of flights tickets for travelling to India regard Goa as their favourite holiday destination and now their choicest of hot spots has been recognised as the finest beach destination! India’s Goa bagged the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) award in the Best Beach Destination category at the world’s biggest travel and tourism exhibition - ITB Berlin. The honour was received by State’s Tourism Minister in a glitzy ceremony that was attended by who’s who of industry.

Media reports convey that it has been the authorities’ work towards the development of the region as a top tourist spot that has worked in its favour. There have been concentrated efforts on part of the authorities to entice people to block flights tickets to the destination. They have been working overtime to promote India’s western state as a safe tourist destination. Adequate monitoring of seashore shacks and water sports facilities have also added to the state’s appeal and tempted tourists to land in Goa after booking tickets deals on India bound flights.

Industry insiders hope the honour will boost Goa’s position as one of the finest beach destinations all over the world. An increasing number of foreigners would hopefully look to bag tickets on flights arriving in India and plan travel to the seaside destination.
