A growing number of holidaymakers from the UK are booking flights to Thailand.
A significantly higher number of people from the UK booked flights to Thailand in April this year than during the same month in 2011.
According to the latest official statistics from the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports, some 1.7 million international tourists visited the country last month.
This represented a 6.87 per cent increase over the same month a year earlier, with growth recorded in nearly every region.
However, the data involving UK visitors was particularly impressive, with 73,402 people visiting Thailand in April; representing a 47.9 per cent increase on the same month last year.
This was also enough to see the UK become Thailand's eighth biggest market – ahead of Australia and the United States.
