Economic difficulties 'do not stop people from going on holiday'

Even in the face of economic difficulties, people are still likely to want to spend time overseas relaxing.

The ongoing economic crisis is not something that will deter people from spending time overseas on holiday as they still want to spend time relaxing with their loved ones.

While the economic downturn has had an effect on what people choose to spend their money on, life doctor John Rushton explained most consumers are still placing priority on taking a trip abroad.

"People like holidaying, it's what they do - it's a chance to get away and it takes them away from their everyday environment - even if the holiday rains every day," Mr Rushton said.

He added the desire to get away comes from people simply wanting to spend the moment with their partner, friends, or even on their own in order to just get away.
