Thailand has played host to a series of events to celebrate the indigenous peoples of the world.
Travellers on flights to Thailand could have the chance to take part in some of the events which are being held in the country to mark the International Day for World's Indigenous People.
Taking place until August 9th 2011, the three-day event is being staged in Chiangmai and will see representatives from 36 different ethnic groups taking part, the Shan Herald reported.
A festival entitled the Asserting Indigenous Peoples' Lifestyle and Rights event will be held at Suan Chalerm Phrakiat King Rama IX of the Chiangmai Provincial Administrative Organization in the city.
The Thai government has played host to the event once before, welcoming visitors from all around the world in 2007.
