Singapore Airlines’ SilkAir Commenced Flights to Vizag in India

In good news to travellers looking for tickets on flights between South India and Singapore, SilkAir launched first direct flights from port city of Visakhapatnam or Vizag to the city-state on October 28.

On Sunday, the flight MI 448, took off from the Changi Airport Terminal 2 early morning and reached Visakhapatnam Airport at 5.10pm. To mark the occasion, the carrier presented special souvenirs to the flyers who bought tickets for the flights from the island country to this city of India and vice versa.  

Vizag is not only one of the important commercial cities, but also an emerging tourist attraction among foreign vacationers who book tickets on India bound flights. 

It is the eighth destination of India to be served by the carrier. Besides, it offers tickets for popular destinations like Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram. 

With the launch of these flight services, the full service carrier became the first international airline to provide non-stop air connectivity to Vizag.

The airline is looking forward to provide seamless connectivity and offer a good number of flights options to business and leisure traveller who buy tickets on India bound flights

These new flights will not only strengthen the carrier’s presence in India but will also spell convenience to passengers looking for flights between two popular countries.

Initially the regional wing of the Singapore Airline will operate thrice a week. The new services are linked via Singapore with more than 90 international cities in the joint Singapore Airlines-SilkAir network.
