The Indian state of Tamil Nadu is hoping to see an influx of tourists after the implementation of its Vision 2023 plan.
As part of the scheme, the government has allocated a significant pot of money for the construction of hotels (including four and five star premises), amusement parks and eco parks, the Times of India reports.
"If India is to realise its enormous potential in this sector, we must provide world-class facilities matched with technology qualified workforce to our guests," said Kalyani Mathivanan.
Tamil Nadu, whose capital is Chennai, lies at the southernmost tip of India and even before these additions already has a number of spectacular highlights which draw in many thousands of tourists.
