The Madhya Pradesh Ecotourism Development Board is to begin the digital documentation of fossil sites this month in a bid to boost tourism in the central state.
A wide variety of fossils, from the tiniest micro-organisms to the largest of dinosaurs, are located in the Narmada Valley and this digital documentation will help to map the prime fossil sites in the region, the Times of India reports.
Flowing from the Amarkantak hills in central India, the Narmada River cuts a course of over 800 miles to reach the Arabian Sea through the Gulf of Cambey, 19 miles west of Bharuch city.
