A day of special events to celebrate Easter is to take place in Nelson Mandela Square in Johannesburg.
Easter weekend is set to be celebrated in style in Johannesburg with a series of events to be hosted at Nelson Mandela Square.
Taking place on Monday April 8th, the event will see a number of impressive musical performers taking to the stage as part of a string of concerts.
The highlight of the event will be an African-inspired performance of Frederick Handel's Messiah, while conductor Richard Cock will lead the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra in their performances.
A number of other talented soloists and choirs will perform on the day, with the first acts to take to the stage at 15:00 local time.
As the event is free, it is ideal for both devoted fans of classic music to those who simply want to dip in to hear some of the performances and sample the food on offer in the restaurants around the square.
