Delhi International Airport has been named as the best in India at the World Airport Awards.
Delhi International Airport now holds the distinction of being the best airport in India after scooping the honour at a prestigious awards ceremony.
The terminal was given the prize during the Skytrax 2012 World Airport Awards, which took place at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Vienna.
PS Nair, chief executive officer of Delhi International Airport, was at the awards ceremony in person to pick up the award.
Commenting on the win, Edward Plaisted, chairman of Skytrax, said: "Coinciding with the opening of the new Terminal 3, there has been a significant improvement in product standards for passengers travelling into Delhi International Airport."
He added the airport has recently seen a marked improvement to the shopping and dining experiences offered.
