Thailand is a top, all-round tourist destination and people can benefit from cheap flights to Bangkok.
Travel expert Conde Nast has ranked the beautiful country of Thailand as one of the world's top five destinations.
The country came fourth in the World's Best Destination competition - leaping 15 places up the rankings.
Italy was dubbed the best destination during the travel awards ceremony, followed by the US and Turkey. France made up the top five.
Conde Nast also compiled a list of the world's finest hotels, including the Four Seasons Resort in Chiang Mai, the Oriental Dhara Dhevi, also in the same city, and the Anantara and Amanpuri, both of which are in Phuket.
Phuket, understandably, was in the top ten of the Top Island Destinations category.
The island was described by the competition's judges as "luxury on a budget" as well as "friendly and [welcoming]".
Earlier this month, Bangkok played host to the World Gourmet Festival, which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in the city.
