Christchurch in New Zealand is bracing itself for a heavy amount of snow this weekend.
People heading on flights to Christchurch in order to enjoy winter sports this weekend could be pleased to hear that heavy snowfall is predicted.
As much as 20 cm of snow has been predicted to fall on Canterbury between August 14th and 17th 2011, according to New Zealand's Blue Skies forecasters.
"Accumulations could easily exceed 50cm over three days above 200m," the service predicted, stating that it could be similar to levels which were recorded a couple of weeks ago.
However, those heading to the regions may also be advised to note that the heavy snowfall could also have an impact on businesses and transportation in the location, with Christchurch City Concil reporting it will keep people up to date on any changes to services.
