Dubai Airport has received permission to go ahead with a major expansion of its facilities.
People thinking of booking flights to Dubai could enjoy a new development which is set to expand the region's largest airport.
Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have approved the plans for Dubai Airport to embark on a $7.8 billion (£4.9 billion) extension to the existing facility, which will allow an additional 30 million passengers to use the hub each year.
The development will add 675,000 square metres to the airport's floor space, making its footprint twice the size of London Heathrow's Terminal 5.
Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports, said: "This is another landmark moment in Dubai's proud aviation history and sets us firmly on course to become the world's busiest airport for international passenger traffic by 2015."
