The Hindu festival of Rath Yatra will be taking place in the east Indian town of Puri next month.
British travellers arriving on flights to India next month will be able to catch one of the country's most impressive annual festivals, as Rath Yatra is scheduled to take place on July 3rd.
This annual religious event centres around the Jagannath Temple in the town of Puri on the Bay of Bengal, with hundreds of thousands of ecstatic devotees congregating.
The main event is a procession, during which a giant image of the Hindu God Krishna is pulled through the streets to the nearby temple of Gundicha Ghar.
Krishna is accompanied by images of his brother Balarama, and sister, Subhadra, and all three of them ride through the town in 45-foot-high yellow chariots, which are drawn by teams of pilgrims.
